2 programs that have changed how i use OS X

don't doubt that i don't love the OS X dock and finder, but Launchbar has made me hardly use the dock or finder to find files, applications, play music, find bookmarks. pretty much everything. you just hit Apple+Space and a little bar pops down under the top menu bar, and you type whatever you want. if you want to listen to Ben Folds, you type ben and a list pops down with your ben folds playlist(if you have one), ben folds albums (if you have any), or you could jsut scroll down the list of ben folds songs that you have. if you have none, then you can open the text file "benevolence.txt" cause it's there too. anyway, that jsut scratches the surface of this awesome program. check out the site for more details.

also, Keyboard Maestro is amazing too. it has a bunch of applescripts already that can do things like controlling iTunes, and the finder. that is hardly the limit to this program. the whole idea is that you build "macro's" that are basically lists of applescripts, so you can automate common tasks. you activate the macro's by hitting key combinations. you can also set them to happen when you open programs, or at a specific time, or whatever. you can make one that will resize and position your windows to a specific way whenever you open iChat, or whatever. the coolest part is that it's so versitile, and is pretty easy to use (once you get the hang of it). i do suggest you read through the manual and set up the sample macro so you can understand it. at first it can seem overwhelming, but that's just cause it's powerful. anyway, gnite.
